One week Faculty Development Program on C Programming and Data Structures by APSCHE

Faculty Training Program on 'C Programming and Data Structures'

sponsored by APSCHE in Association with JNTU Hyderabad

A sixday faculty training program on C&DS concluded on 21st January 2012 at NMREC. This program was sponsored by APSCHE in association with JNTU, Hyderabad. The program is part of an initiative by APSCHE & JNTUH to improve the knowledge & teaching skills of teachers in engineering colleges especially in 1st year subjects where pass percentage has been low.

105 faculties from 56 Engineering colleges in Ranga Reddy District & Hyderabad participated in the program. Eminent faculty delivered 22 sessions. All the participants felt that they learnt a lot of finer points in the subject and requested APSCHE, JNTUH to conduct more such programs, and schedule them before the semester begins.

The Chairman of APSCHE speaking on the occasion highlighted the enormous responsibility of teachers in this technology driven ‘global’ economy. He also emphasized the fact that teaching – learning process must be systematically approached. There a huge dearth of quality Ph.Ds in technical education according to Kakodkar committee and part of this shortage is due to lack of research facilities and culture.

Prof. G. K. Vishwanath, who was also present on the occasion congratulated the college for taking the initiative. He told teachers to reach individual students through various alternative modes using technology and creativity.

Dr. Divya Nalla, Principal of NMREC informed that various faculty development programs were being conducted by them since 2007 through the Centre for Faculty Development & Management (CFDM) of the college.
