The college is setup amidst lush green natural surroundings with a true pearly white building. To look at, NMREC is a commitment with joy. This college was established in the year 2001 that has been taken over by Nalla Malla Reddy Education Society and shifted to the current location in 2006 with a view to provide quality education. The basic philosophy of the Institute is to provide quality technical education with thorough practical knowledge.
The college has the entire infrastructure necessary for the curriculum and also provides extra facilities and research centers to imbibe research culture, and give more exposure to the students. The facilities provided by the college include a huge Library with a Digital Library and a digital subscription for all the IEEE publications, and subscription to many other National and International Journals.
The college also has separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls, transport to all parts of the city, and a neat and clean canteen for serving refreshments for the students and staff.
The college has 9 academic departments and 2 supporting departments.
Engineering Departments offer B.Tech in CSE, ECE, EEE, IT, and Mechanical Engineering. B.Tech in Civil Engineering is started in 2012.
The Department of Management Studies offers MBA program for graduates.
The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department offers M.Tech in VLSI Systems design.
M.Tech in Computer Networks and Information Security is offered by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with CAD/CAM specialisation is being offered by the department of Mechanical Engineering.
M.Tech in Electrical Power Engineering under the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has been approved by AICTE for the year 2013-14.
The teaching faculty of the college are well qualified and from varied backgrounds consisting of research, teaching, and industry. Our faculty include highly experienced industry personnel from reputed organizations and eminent academicians from state universities and national institutes.
The college has a Computer Society of India (CSI) student chapter, IEEE student chapter, IETE college chapter, Association of Electrical Engineers (AEE), and an Association of Mechanical Engineers (AME). The college also has an ISTE faculty chapter.
Understanding that the improvement in teaching in turn would lead to the increase in the quality of the engineers, the college has setup a center for faculty development and management (CFDM) back in 2007. The center takes care of the faculty development needs and regularly conducts workshops and training programs for faculty within the college and also for faculty from outside. It is headed by the senior professor who is a specialist in faculty training. The research center of the college has been started in the year 2009 to involve and improve the research culture among the students and faculty. The research center encourages the faculty in research work by sponsoring them to attend conferences/workshops, and enroll in doctoral studies. The faculty are encouraged to publish their work by providing incentives for publishing papers at both national and international levels. The research center of the college conducts an annual Industry Institute research meet to foster ties between the institute and the industry. The college also has plans to setup research centers in all the departments to encourage the students in pursuing research. The students are given thorough knowledge in both theory and practical subjects by making them involve in the subject through activities and regular participation. Regular assignments and projects help them in tuning their skills and learning new technologies which would help them in their future endeavors.
