NSS


The college has an NSS wing. Students experience community service through NSS activities. Medical Camps have been conducted for people in surrounding villages by eminent doctors from all over the city. Blood Donation Camps have been conducted, tree plantation was taken up, swach bharat program was conducted in nearby places, villages and schools, and many other community service activities were conducted by the college NSS wing.

NCC


National Integration Camp of NCC conducted by the 2(T) BN NCC was hosted by Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College. The camp was attended by 800 cadets from all over India from 17 NCC Directorates.
The National level Ek Bharath - Sreshth Bharat Camp conducted by the 4(T) BN NCC was hosted by NMREC. 600 Cadets from North East, AP and Telangana attended the camp.



SPORTS


Sports are an integral part of the curriculum. Sports and games play an important role in the development of mental and physical strength of the students, also help students to improve their interpersonal relationship. Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College has excellent sports facility for the students within the campus. Annual sports meet is conducted in the college in which students from all the departments compete with each other and exhibit true sportsman sprit. Students participate in inter university and state level tournaments and have been winning laurels for the college.


The annual Sports Meet was conducted in March 2019. A report on the same is presented here.

This event was inaugurated on 19th March 2019 by Smt.Ketireddy Sandyavali, Chairperson, Nalla Malla Reddy Education Society. Dr. Sneha Nalla, graced the occasion. All the students, faculty, and other staff members assembled in the sports ground in front of the college. The sports flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest. The torch was carried around the college ground by the students of the college who represented JNTUH at national level. It was a great start, as each department represented by a team of students marched and the team leader of the contingent gave salute to the dignitaries and the sports flag. This has instilled in many of the young players required motivation and interest to participate in sports events. The sports torch flame which symbolises peace, purity, perfection, friendship, unity, tolerance and hope created confidence and aspiration among students.


The subsequent days focused on various Sports opened for all the students bringing cheer for the participating teams. Various events were conducted in the sports grounds of the college. The whole week was filled with intense, breathtaking performance of all the participants. The final matches were conducted on the last day. While students were having fun showcasing their sporting skills, our faculty never held back. They stepped up and put their foot forward exhibiting great enthusiasm by cheering their students. The week ended with memorable experiences. The winners of various Sports were given medals and certificates by our chairperson.


This year, boys Volleyball final match was played between EEE and ECE Departments. The EEE department team consisting of wonderful players B. Ravikanth Reddy, P. Prashanth, P. Sandeep, S.Vishnuvardhan Reddy, B.Tharun, K.Saichand, M.Sai Charan Rao, B. Sai Krishna Reddy, R. Srikanth, S. Sai Tharun, V.Sharath, and V. Sai Pritham Reddy who have exhibited their impressive performance to clinch the winners trophy. Volleyball Girls winners shield was won by CSE. This win is attributed to the skill presented by the talented players of CSE Tejani, Hamshitha, Naga Devi, Shirisha, Karuna Sri, Uma Sri, Manju, Sreeja, Swetha, Rohini, Pranitha, and Sushmitha. The runners, ECE department too were equally good, who had shown magnificent game to the viewers.


The boys Kabaddi team of mechanical department was the toughest team which defeated ECE department 19-17 in a pulsating final to lift the winners shield. The winners team consisting of S.Shiva Hari (Captain), S.Pavan, Harish, Raju, V. Sai Teja, B. Elwin, Mahesh Reddy, Sandeep, Venu Madhav, V.Amarendhar Reddy, Prince Kumar Jha, and N.Sai Kumar, who exhibited amazing skills that included super tackles and raids. The girls Kabbadi team of EEE department with K.Anusha, G.Sindhura, J.Hima Bindhu, P.Bharghavi, T.Prasanna, I.Radhika, G.Sai Priya Reddy, G.Soumya, and Vaishnavi enthralled the viewers by their skills and defeated Mechanical department to lift the winners shield.


In the boys Basketball final match, the CSE department team players K.Vamshi, K.Yashwanth, T.Mallesh, M.Naveen, G.Naveen, T.Shashank, B.Vishnu, D.Uday, P.Sanith, Y.Radhush, D.Rama Krishna, and L.Madhusudhan started in a great style to take the final slot of the day, quashing the Mechanical departments hopes with a 35-23 scoreline to win the memorable trophy.


In the boys Kho–Kho final match, the Mechanical department defeated EEE department to clinch the winners shield. In girls stream, EEE department having started well won over ECE department to win the shield.


Throwball girls finals, played between ECE and CSE departments was a nail-biting final with the ECE department players Bhavani, Neelima, Kavya, Preethi, Usha, Priyanka, Ravali, Sharanya, Mounika, Nichitha, Taruni, and Sathya harshini showcasing their talent by defeating CSE department 17-12 to clinch the winners title. The runners CSE department too had showed their sportswomen spirit in trying to win the game.


As part of Athletics Ch. Harish of Mechanical department had won the first prize in Shortput after hurling a massive 9 meters in the event and V. Ravikanth Reddy of ECE department was one meter short of that and had to settle for second prize.


In track and field competition, sprinters D. Gopi of Mechanical department and Sharanya of EEE department bagged the gold medals and Pradyumma of ECE department and P.Vidya of EEE department bagged the silver medals in 400 Meters race.


In 100 meters race, S. Sharanya of ECE department and P.Nanda Kumar of mechanical department bagged gold medals. Silver medal was won by Mamatha of ECE department and Sandeep of CIVIL department.


N.Shilpa of EEE department exhibited her skills in Table Tennis. She with her talent won the gold medal while in boy's stream, N. Srikanth secured gold medal. In girls table tennis doubles N. Shilpa and J.Prasanna of EEE clinched the gold medals. In boys TT doubles, K. Akhil and Krishna Vamshi of EEE department had won gold medals.


S.Shiva of Mechanical department and E.Bhavani of ECE department with their stylish aggressive attacking approach clinched gold in Badminton singles finals. In Badminton doubles finals A.Kavya and E.Bhavani of ECE department and J.Sonukumar and Suresh won gold with their series of booming smashes.


The overall Championship for 2019 was won by ECE department. It was a proud moment for the students of ECE after a long intense week. ECE boys had a huge contribution in bringing home the championship trophy. Even though ECE department had won the Championship, EEE department has left the crowd in admiration because of their undying spirit of never giving up the teamwork.


This year's best player award was won by N. Sandeep Naik from EEE department. This sports meet was not only meant for cultivating sportsman spirit but also served as guiding spirit for the talented young minds towards the D-Zone and University games.


Extra Curricular Activities


Many activities are conducted in the college in addition to the curriculum to enable all-round development of the students. The students are provided with opportunities for exploring and enhancing their talents in extra-curricular activities.

To encourage creative writers, the college started the magazine SRUSHTI. All the departments are involved in every issue of the magazine.

National level Technical Symposiums are conducted every year by all the departments with many technical events inviting participation by students form all over the nation. These fests are entirely organised by the students.

The college celebrates its annual day SAMISHTI showcasing the artistic talents of the students.

National festivals are celebrated with grand fervor by all NMRians. Special events like Engineers Day, National Science Day, International Yoga Day, Sadbhavana Diwas, and many other such events in college provide the students with ample opportunities to participate in competitions, conduct activities and learn.
